Over 1,500 new students enroll in Forsyth County schools each year. Even with all of the new schools, we’re still struggling with overcrowding. We need to relieve this burden to ensure our kids can continue to have a great education. School impact fees could help ease the burden and place a proportionate share of the cost of infrastructure expansion on the activity placing the demand on our school system. Right now, school impact fees are not allowed in Georgia, but I support allowing local leaders to make this decision, not legislators at the Gold Dome.
